It was tough...
Last nights work out was difficult and demanding. For those that aren't familiar with Muay Thai, it's a martial arts from Thailand that uses a combination of punch's, elbows, knees and kicks. Yesterday's workout was all about knees, and let me tell you that I now feel muscles that I never knew I had. My calculations put the calories burnt count at 900. Not bad for an hour and half workout. Today will be about running, taking it out to 5k at lunch after work I'll be working with the Lerbert bars to build and tone up my muscles.

Does it work! Fitness tools...
I was looking around the house and started to notice all the DVDs and fitness equipment that I purchased over the years. I always started with the initial intention of using the equipment to get that super toned, super muscular body. Just like most folks, the stuff gets looked at maybe once and then tucked away into the corner with broom and mop bucket (which I never use either). So this is where it got me thinking, does it work? It definitely looks like it might because everyone in the commercials look ripped, or maybe that's just marketing at it's best.
What I'll be doing over the next month is using various methods of exercise including equipment/DVDs such as Lerbert Equalizer Bars (www.lebertequalizer.com), Winsor Pilates dvds with the circle (www.winsorpilates.com), 10 min Ab's video, martial arts Muay Thai (http://www.training-ground.com/) and wrapping it all up with running (100 miles a month challenge through www.mapmyride.com). For the enquiring minds out there, I do have a full-time job and a part-time business. Besides working out, I'll also be focusing on time management to get it all done.
I will have my starting stat's post tonight so you all know where I'm starting and the end goal is to look trimmer, stronger by the end of the month. Hopefully the adventure keeps you entertained and inspires you to pull out that equipement that's sitting in the corner.
Cheers,
John
